Today is the most auspicious festival of chariots.

A Vaishnav poet, Vāsudeva Ghoṣa, says with folded hands, “He who is Gaura is He who is Krishna is He who is Jagannatha.”

Jagganath swāmy nayana patha gāmi bhavatu me

“May Lord Jagannath be the object of my vision”

Jagganath is the most merciful and fulfiller of all desires.

sakala chāḍiyā, āsiyāchi āmi ,

Thakur Bhaktivinoda writes, “I have given up everything and come to Your lotus feet. I am Your eternal servant, and You are my protector and maintainer, O Lord of the universe!”

On this very holy day, I have completed the reading of 3rd canto of Srimad Bhagavatam. I’m very grateful to my seniors for their abundant guidance and blessings.

This is the same text that Narottama Das Thakur describes:

vicār koriyā mane, bhakti-rasa āsvādane,

madhyastha śrī-bhāgavata purāṇa

“Considering the merits of all Vedic literatures in the light of devotional service, I have concluded that the Srimad Bhagavatam is the best of all scriptures.”
